Chad Thompson, PhD, is an industrial-organizational psychologist who specializes in assessing and advising executive-level talent. He helps organizations make high-stakes hiring decisions by identifying the leadership qualities most critical for success in their unique context. His assessments are candidate-friendly, data-driven, and designed to uncover both strengths and development areas that matter most to performance.
Chad works closely with executive search firms, boards, and hiring committees across a wide range of industries—including hospitality—to deliver clear, objective insights on finalist candidates. He draws on deep expertise in psychometrics and personality psychology, combined with a practical understanding of business needs, shaped by his experience as an entrepreneur.
He is trained in a wide variety of cognitive and personality assessments and is known for translating complex results into clear, actionable insights aligned with the role and organizational culture.
Chad earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from Wright State University and his B.A. in Psychology from Wittenberg University. He is a long-standing member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and has presented at their national conference. His research has been published in The Psychologist-Manager Journal and Applied Human Resource Management Research, and his perspectives on talent and leadership have been featured in HR Magazine, Human Capital Institute, and keynote addresses for organizations like the American Society of Employers.
