Kevin Peters graduated Magna Cum Laude in the Hotel and Restaurant Management program from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie. He graduated with an emphasis in private club management, an emphasis that Kevin helped develop. He began his first club management position six months before he graduated and continued as a manager in the club and restaurant field for nine years. In April 1987, the United States Department of the Treasury hired him as a Special Agent.

For ten years, Kevin investigated major international smuggling organizations, earning numerous awards, including the prestigious “Commissioner’s Award” from the Commissioner of U.S. Customs. After these ten years of many successful investigations, resulting in approximately 90 convictions and only one acquittal, Kevin accepted a transfer to Washington DC to work at the Headquarters of the U.S. Customs Service.

Four years of national staff and field coordination duties led to a selection as the Assistant Customs Attaché in the U.S. Embassy in Manila, Republic of the Philippines. Kevin arrived at post in Manila on September 3, 2001, and watched the world change a week later. With numerous terrorist groups active in the Philippines, Kevin spent three years working on and supervising many investigations dealing with terrorism. In October 2004, Kevin was selected as the new Attaché for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and served concurrently for two years in that capacity and as the Senior U.S. Representative to the Philippines for the Department of Homeland Security.

In August 2006, Kevin returned to the United States and accepted a position at ICE Headquarters in the Policy and Emergency Preparedness Unit where he finished his government career as Section Chief. During his twenty years as a federal agent, Kevin spoke in numerous venues instructing and coaching other law enforcement and security personnel. He spoke at the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Bangkok, Thailand, the South East Asian Regional Center for Counter Terrorism (SEARCCT) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was class counselor for a group of senior Philippine law enforcement personnel at an advanced class at the FBI training academy in Quantico, Virginia, and spoke on many more occasions at many additional venues.

Upon retirement from the government, Kevin opened his own company, K. R. Peters Security, LLC. This company will be a venue that Kevin can use to combine his education and life experiences to help private clubs to review and upgrade their security position, and operate with a confidence that they have done everything they can do to safeguard their members.

Kevin recently completed his Master’s degree at Marymount University in Arlington, VA in the field of Forensic Psychology.
